MCP services

Make your catalogue readable by AI assistants

We fix the product data and bot rules that trip up AI shopping agents, and build MCP connectors on your systems. Every month we test what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini show for UK shopping queries.

  • GTIN
  • Price
  • Stock
  • Delivery cost
  • Returns

Example product record

What we build

We suggest retailers start with the catalogue work, and marketplaces and software companies with a connector. The monthly checks run alongside either, or on their own.

Agent-ready catalogue

To quote a product, an AI agent needs a GTIN or similar identifier, price, stock, delivery cost and returns terms. We audit how agents see your shop, then fix what gets in their way.

  • Firewall, bot rules and CDN settings (Cloudflare or similar) that let in the AI agents you choose to allow
  • GTINs, brand, price, stock, delivery costs and times, and returns terms in your schema.org markup and product feeds
  • Your Google Merchant Center feed checked and fixed, including free listings
  • Your platform's MCP or UCP module set up and tested, where it has one

Best for

Mid-size retailers on Magento or Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a custom platform.

What you get

A written audit with fixes in priority order. We make the fixes in your platform or hand them to your developers, then test again.

MCP server, ChatGPT app or Claude connector

A connector on top of your catalogue, stock and order systems, under your own name.

  • An MCP server with the actions you choose, such as product search, stock checks or order status
  • A ChatGPT app, a Claude connector or both, built on that server
  • Tests that check whether the assistant calls the right tool for real queries
  • The directory listing prepared and submitted under your organisation, with answers to review questions

Best for

UK marketplaces and vertical SaaS companies, and retailers who want an app of their own.

What you get

A working connector submitted for listing under your organisation, with its source code and documentation your developers can maintain. OpenAI and Anthropic decide whether to approve each listing. Once you've paid for it, you own the code we write for you. We keep our own tools and reusable components, and give you a permanent, non-exclusive licence to use them in your connector.

If someone has already wrapped your API in an unofficial MCP server, an official one lets you set its permissions and the way it describes your service.

Also included

  • Product cards where the platform supports them
  • Customer sign-in through OAuth for anything tied to an account, with scopes your team approves
  • Privacy details and a test account for the directory reviewers

Monthly assistant checks

See each month whether ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini show your brand and products, and which other shops they show.

  • 50 to 100 queries agreed with you and written the way UK shoppers ask
  • Each query run in all three assistants with UK settings and repeated several times, because answers change between runs
  • The price, stock and delivery shown checked against your data
  • A report each month with the changes since the last one and the fixes we suggest

We report what the assistants showed. We can't promise what they'll show next month.

Best for

Clients of either service above, or on its own if you want a baseline first.

What you get

The report and the raw answers behind it, so your team can check our reading.

An example query: "waterproof walking boots under £100 with next-day delivery".

How a project runs

  1. Step 1: Free assessment

You fill in a short questionnaire about your catalogue: how much data there is and of what type, the systems behind stock, prices and orders, and any special cases. Then we go through it with you on a call.

You get: A fixed quote for the project, based on the size and type of your data, with a written plan and a list of what we need from your team.

  2. Step 2: Build

We run a first set of test queries so we both see the starting point. Then we make the data and access fixes, or build the connector against a staging copy of your systems. Your team reviews the scopes, tool descriptions and any text a shopper will see before anything goes live.

You get: Changes in your platform, or a working connector in staging, with test results.

  3. Step 3: Submission

    Apps and connectors only

We submit the directory listing under your organisation and make the changes reviewers ask for. OpenAI and Anthropic decide whether and when to approve it.

You get: A submitted listing, and our help until the review ends.

  4. Step 4: Monthly report

Each month we run the agreed queries, send the report and fix anything that has stopped working. The monthly fee covers keeping your connector working as MCP and the assistants' app platforms change.

You get: A monthly report and a short call to go through it.

Give AI assistants complete, correct data about your products

We fix the data and bot rules, build the connector, and test what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini show each month.

Askwick, our own connector

We have no client case studies yet. The best evidence we can show is Askwick, a connector we are building and will run ourselves.

  • Built to let people ask an AI assistant for products from independent UK shops, then pay the shop through Stripe on our order page
  • The shop is the seller, and Askwick never holds the buyer's money
  • Shoppers sign in with a free Askwick account and give their delivery details only on the order page
Pilot. Coming to AI assistants

Where Askwick stands

We're preparing a pilot with up to 5 UK makers who don't have an online shop.

What it taught us

In our own tests, ChatGPT answered shopping questions without calling our connector, even though it was connected. Getting an assistant to choose the right tool takes repeated testing with real queries, so that testing is part of every connector project we take on.

How Askwick works
  1. Ask in the assistant
  2. See products with delivery
  3. Press Buy to open the order page
  4. Press Pay now to pay the shop

What AI agents look for in your shop

An AI shopping agent works from your product pages and feeds. To quote a product, it needs an identifier such as a GTIN, a price, stock, the delivery cost and your returns terms. If a firewall turns the agent away, or those details are missing from your markup and feed, the assistant has to work with whatever it can find elsewhere.

Blend Commerce audited 200 UK and US online shops in September 2026

  • 91 and 59

Shops on Shopify averaged 91 out of 100 on Blend's readiness score. Shops on every other platform averaged 59.

  • 18%

Of the 171 shops whose product pages Blend could read, 18% showed a GTIN, 22% showed shipping details and 20% a returns policy.

  • 29

Of the 200 shops, 29 turned Blend's automated browser away on two attempts.

Shopify has built much of this into its platform. Shops on Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and custom builds mostly have to add it themselves, with their own developers or with a team like ours.

Who it's for

Mid-size UK retailers not on Shopify

You sell on Magento or Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a platform built for you. You have a large range, a feed for Google and a team or agency that runs the site. You want to know whether AI assistants can read your products, and what they show when people ask.

UK marketplaces and vertical SaaS

You run a marketplace, or software for one industry. A competitor may already have an app in ChatGPT, or someone may have wrapped your API in an unofficial MCP server. You want an official connector that you control, listed under your own name.

Probably not a fit

  • Shops on Shopify. Shopify already does much of the catalogue work for its merchants, though our monthly testing can still show you what assistants return.
  • Makers and small shops without a website. Askwick may suit you better: see Askwick for shops.

Where AI shopping stands in the UK

UK shoppers already ask AI assistants for product ideas. Paying inside the main assistants isn't generally open to them yet. Payment companies have announced UK plans, and we can't tell you when they'll arrive.

So we sell work you can check: product data that agents can read, connectors to the systems that hold your stock and prices, and a monthly record of what assistants show. We don't promise sales or placement in AI answers.

The checkout protocols announced so far, ACP from OpenAI and Stripe and UCP from Google, work from the same product data. If checkout opens to UK shoppers, the work carries over.

Access and data

A connector gives an AI assistant a route into your systems. We keep that route as narrow as the job allows.

  • Narrow access by default

By default the connector can only read, and only the data it needs, such as your catalogue, stock and public prices. Actions that change anything, such as placing or cancelling an order, are separate tools we add only if you ask. Each one has its own permission and asks the user to confirm.

  • Customer data only with your written agreement

We don't send your customers' personal data to AI models unless you agree to it in writing for a specific feature. Order tracking for a signed-in customer is one example, and it stays off until you switch it on.

  • Separate credentials

The connector gets its own API keys or OAuth client, apart from your staff accounts. Keys are stored in a secret manager, yours or ours, and you can revoke them at any time.

  • Logging

We log tool calls to fix problems and spot misuse. Before the build, we agree with you how long logs are kept and which personal details they leave out, and you can ask for them at any time.

  • Contracts and UK GDPR

You contract with UESTIMATES LTD. Before we handle any personal data, we sign a data processing agreement with you. Where our engineers need access to personal data from outside the UK, the agreement covers that transfer with the safeguards UK law requires.

  • Hosting

We agree where the connector runs before the build starts, including whether it runs in your own cloud account.

Questions before you get in touch

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside tools and data. Anthropic published it in 2024. ChatGPT apps and Claude connectors are both built on it, so one MCP server can usually back both.

Do we need an MCP server, or is better product data enough?

For most retailers the data comes first: agent access, GTINs, delivery and returns, and Merchant Center. If your platform has an MCP or UCP module, we set it up as part of that work. A custom MCP server makes sense when you need something a module can't do, such as live stock by store or trade prices for account holders.

Can you guarantee our products will appear in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?

No. The assistants decide what to show, and they change how they decide. We make your data readable, build the connection and measure what happens each month. If a change makes no difference, the report will show that too.

Can UK shoppers buy inside AI assistants yet?

Not in general. Payment companies have announced UK plans, but we can't give you a date. Your monthly report will tell you when that changes for the assistants we test.

Can people in the UK use ChatGPT apps?

When ChatGPT apps launched in October 2025, OpenAI did not open them in the UK. Published sources now disagree about whether UK users can use them. Before we quote, we check with UK accounts and tell you what we find, so you know before you commit to a ChatGPT app. A Claude connector can be built from the same MCP server in the meantime.

Who owns the connector and the directory listing?

The listing is submitted from your organisation's own developer account, so it carries your name and you control it. Once you've paid for the connector, you own the code we wrote for it. We keep our own tools and reusable components, and give you a permanent, non-exclusive licence to use them in your connector.

Which platforms do you work with?

Magento and Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools and custom platforms with an API. If your platform already has an MCP or UCP module, we test that first, because it usually costs you less than a custom build.

What access do you need from us?

For the free assessment, a short questionnaire and a call are enough. Once a project starts, we need your public site, a copy of your product feed and read-only access to your platform admin and Merchant Center. A build also needs API access to a staging environment, then production credentials created only for the connector. The written plan that comes with your quote lists exactly what we need.

Do you send our customer data to AI models?

Only if you agree to it in writing. Product data goes to the assistant, because reading it is the point of the connector. Anything about a named customer, such as order status, stays off until you decide otherwise.

Who will we work with, and how?

UEstimates is a UK company with an experienced engineering team. You'll have one named contact, a shared channel for day-to-day questions and a monthly call to go through the report.
